Rum Shark Diamond 2003
Most enjoy its fruity, ester-forward PM character and dry spice, while critics find the alcohol a bit sharp and the profile somewhat technical. Overall seen as a solid, characterful Guyanese continental rum.
Fans of dry, continental Demerara/PM rums who enjoy higher ABV, light esters, tropical fruit and woody spice over sweetness, and like to pick apart technical profiles.

How does this rum taste?
Dry, fruity PM for seasoned sippers
If you enjoy drier, ester‑leaning Port Mourant or Diamond selections at cask strength, this is a logical next bottle—characterful, a bit edgy, and rewarding with patience or a drop of water.
Beginners or those sensitive to higher ABV and anyone expecting sweet, creamy Demerara; the drier, technical wood and sharper alcohol can feel demanding.

02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 7 Notes Light in colour. Nose Intense, fresh, esters, banana, overripe, faint chocolate, light citrus. Palate Light, fresh, light wood, esters, banana, overripe, light sweet, medium spicy, light olive. Finish Medium to long, light wood, ester, light olive, faint salt, fruits.
Has its charm, but it is basically buried in the PM profile. Unfortunately, not a completely perfectly integrated alcohol. Not only in comparison to other continental PMs with fifteen or more years on the hump, this unfortunately does not yet seem fully harmonious. Solid, but more likely to be in the mid-range.
Auto-translatedVery fruity and spicy one. The aroma offers a lot of fruit, spices and alcohol scent (it reminds me of pralines), at the end I noticed banana. In taste there is lot of technical flavor with vanilla and burnt wood. I am not sure but I think I noticed almost like nutty flavor. Finish is not long and it is very similar to everything I wrote above in the post. This is not rum for me (well at least not now, maybe in the future).
