How does this rum taste?
The 1991 Caroni Rum by Rum Shark represents a unique expression from Trinidad, distilled and aged for 30 years before being bottled at cask strength with a robust 62.9% ABV. It delivers prominent aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and dried fruit. On the palate, it's dominated by caramelized notes, vanilla and milk chocolate, balanced with toasted and dried fruit undertones. While it deviates from classic Caroni profiles, favoring a lighter character, it still offers an intriguing tasting journey. Users appreciate its warmth and low woodiness for its age, though some miss the signature heavy Caroni traits.

My first Caroni. I expected heavier rum but this one was really gently. Love the chocolate, love the wood and the flavor of the fruit was excatly as should be (just enough). I was one of the lucky ones, who had opportunity to taste it, if the bottle had a better price ot will be a 10 for me.
Very nice light rum by Caroni. Balanced full Flavie with lot of Dark chocolate & burned caramel. Burnt tires and spent kerosene only faintly in the background. Those who love heavy garage Caroni should choose another bottle, those who love good Overproof rum or looking for a way to heavy Caroni, will enjoy it.
Ve vůni očekávám sladký profil caroni. Cítím čokoládu, koření, karamel, skořici ( skořici u caroni snad poprvé). V chuti nemám pocit, že piju HTR, ale piju rozhodně dobré caroni s velmi specifickým profilem, které toho má hodně co nabídnout. Vzhledem ke stáří mě udivuje, jak málo dřeva citím, což přidává příjemným svěžím chutím. Závěr středně dlouhý až dlouhý a krásně hladí.
Definitely a very, very tasty Trinidad Overproof but caroni?! I feel here only to 5-10% maximum. But outstanding that the part has really 30 years on the hump and still tastes so little woody! Really tasty!
