This is a very rare bottle and there is a reason why. This rum is a typical Caroni from the nose to the finish. The nose is velvety with tropical fruits and camphor, some barrel with the typical polish and tar as well. The palate is well balanced with plum and cherries in the foreground and smoky barrel and ester to it. The finish is long and persistent with plum and spices. Price to quality is very good.

Kurz gesagt: guter Rum, schlechter Caroni. Wenig bis keine typischen Noten, dafür eine enorme Süße und Fruchtigkeit. Am Gaumen zusätzlich eine pfeffrige Schärfe. Insgesamt ein guter Rum, der Name bringt ihn preislich jedoch in Sphären, denen er nicht gerecht wird. Leicht zu trinken oder anders formuliert, vielleicht etwas zu arg verdünnt.

Sehr fruchtig in der Nase, dreckig ist er nicht, eher etwas seifig, wie Seifenpulver. Aus Frucht habe ich Stachelbeere. In den oberen Tönen Mürbeteig, Limettig-frisch. Würzig im Geschmack. Anis, Salz-Lakritz, am Anfang kurz pfeffrig. Leider zu verdünnt, daher etwas flach. Metallisch. Auch im Abgang Lakritz. Recht kurz.

Hat mit dem klassischen Caroni -Profil nur sehr wenig gemein, aber ist ansonsten durchaus gefällig.
