How does this rum taste?
- Very pleasant white rum
- Price/quality is very good
- Sweet, fruity nose and taste
Plantation 3 Stars White gets nods for its sweet vanilla nose, gentle sugarcane notes, and balanced, easy-drinking profile. RumX members highlight its “vanilla, sugarcane, and tropical fruit on the nose” (MaddenC11) and that it makes a “killer daiquiri” (ReformedPiper). While not overly complex, the blend of subtle fruitiness, mild esters, and just a hint of funk offers more than you’d expect from a standard white rum. Some detect a minerality and butteriness hiding under the surface, and many agree it “does not stand out quite enough to be great” (DILIPEK), yet its mixability and soft finish make it a reliable pick for rum cocktails. There’s some debate over added sugar and a short finish, but for many, the value and versatility win out.

"Overall a quite bland rum that can’t compete with the best white ones tasted at a restaurant after having a typical Swedish Christmas buffet. It’s a blend of rum from Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad with 10gpl added sugar."
"Suitable for mixing, very mediocre. In my opinion, it's not suitable for drinking straight, but that's probably not the purpose either. Very thin in taste, slightly bitter note, I would always prefer the Veritas."
"The nose is vanilla forward. Quite a lot of esters and a subtle citrus and white chocolate note. The palate has the vanilla from the nose but it's more mineral and less fruity. Some exotic woods. The finish is quite short. Vanilla and toasted coconut mainly. Overall its a decent white rum. I'm not too much of a fan of this mixed but it's very reasonably priced and not bad neat."
"Best PLV rum for daiquiri or other cocktails (Pink Lake, pink&stormy, Bloody sunrise,...). Compared to Veritas, it performs worse, but Veritas also costs twice as much. Therefore a clear mix recommendation"
