I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. Not necessarily very complex but very pleasant. The alcohol is well integrated and makes the whole intense without being heady. Aromas rather on the freshness and the sweetness, with a small lime that enhances the whole. The end of mouth is not very long but presents wood and vanilla in softness.
Really tasty old Nicaraguan rum. Alcohol could be minimally better integrated overall, but he still makes real fun. Lots of power, strong after coconut, dried apricot, dark chocolate, cappuccino and some wood and bourbon vanilla. Finally time a really old single cask without sugar from Nicaragua.
29.10.2022 whisky & Rum Festival, nice event with a few friends and a few of our own bottles. Very nice release especially when looking at the price tag. Medium fruity with nice caramel and some grassy notes. The finish is long and warm with light fruit and caramel.
