Darsa Plantation Guatemala XO (Edition 2019)
Most enjoy its unique amburana tonka, coconut and pastry profile and great price. Critics say it drinks more like a liqueur, with light body and cask flavors masking the base rum.
Those who enjoy sweet, pastry-like rums and liqueurs, love coconut/tonka and cinnamon notes, and want a characterful yet gentle 50% sipper for dessert or winter evenings.

Wow 😍 Tonka bean in the face Best rum in terms of price performance. Anyone who likes tonka bean should definitely buy this rum. The amburana finishing masks the distillate's own flavor, but I don't think that's a bad thing in this case because it doesn't have that much potential anyway. It doesn't have much potential of its own anyway
A pleasantly complex of dark chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon smelling, dark amber rum from Guatemala. On the tongue it is fruity, little sweet and minimally woody, while slightly spicy. Hints of cinnamon and tropical fruit round out the flavor. The finish is clear and long-lasting.
The nose is warm, sweet with nice notes of milk chocolate, light wood and some spices that seem to be cinnamon. The amburana has clearly done its job in the structure of the rum which without this finish would be too light. In the mouth, the alcohol is extremely well integrated, it is very pastry, sweet but not too much, it is delicious! We find the milk chocolate, the coconut, the vanilla as well as a light woody taste. It lacks chew but we excuse this little defect by the gustative qualities uncommon to other rums of this kind...The finish is short and connected to the palate...In conclusion, this rum is a real chocolate candy where the word pastry takes all its meaning! It is light but well structured, not liquorish, I love it!
