How does this rum taste?
- Complex and intense flavors
- Unique high ester profile
- Rich, aromatic depth
The "Grand Arome FR" from Galion distillery in Martinique, bottled by Ferroni, is a 5-year-old cask strength rum distilled from molasses in 2016, featuring a robust ABV of 63%. This rum is celebrated for its aromatic complexity, combining banana, caramel, and vanilla with intense spice and ester notes. Tasting notes suggest a layered experience with evolving flavors like licorice, mint, and tropical fruits, all underpinned by the character of aged wood. Users appreciate its unique grand aroma profile, making it a standout choice for high ester rum enthusiasts. With its powerful nose and rich, complex palate, it offers a deep, memorable tasting experience, though some find it slightly heavy on the wood influence.

"Considering the age and price tag this is a very good rum. Fruity with wonderful spices that makes it live up to the "Grand Arôme". Very intense in the flavours with a hint of licorice and mint. Price to quality is very good."
Bravo Guillaume ! 👏"
"I had to look this up after my first taste, as it did taste so much different than other Melasse Rums I thought it might be an Agricole after all. Quite fruity in a way I was not expecting and must be refined in a second tasting. I liked it very much. Second tasting: Thinking I found the reason it is so different, Caramel and malt go with grapes and herbs, but also some fresh sweetness. Are all Grand Aromes along those lines? Worth checking this out..."
"The fermented molasses gives a wide variety of empyreumatic esters, well complemented by barrel aging. A great discovery for lovers of the English woody style. The finish is extra rich and long."
