“Tasted in direct comparison with the RumX bottling. The first thing that stands out is that the German Edition is much more immature compared to the RumX. Lemon and green apple instead of ripe tropical fruit. Wood and spice are much more restrained. The somewhat lighter color also speaks for a weaker barrel influence. The nose is nevertheless pleasing. In the mouth, the acidity is once again very present, and the alcohol is much more unpleasant than in the RumX. That is to become really annoying at the edge. Behind that is then the herbal side plays up big: Green peppers, chili, black tea. The finish continues to be sour and astringent without much new facet. The nose is really nice, but this comparison unfortunately shows a class difference.”
