Rhum Chantal Comte Maison La Mauny La Tour De L‘Or
Consensus holds this is a complex, woody, and spicy rum with subtle vanilla and almond. It wears its strength well; one to try if you enjoy a wood-forward pour.
Wonderfully balanced and complex with wood and spice layers.

How does this rum taste?
- Very nicely balanced, wood is not overpowering
- Intense, palette aromatique très concentrée, complexe
- Wunderbar intensiver Agricole, eher auf der dunklen Seite
La Tour De L'Or (Maison La Mauny, Chantal Comte) stirs up conversation thanks to its intense interplay of wood, spice, vanilla, and almond. RumX members praise its complexity: "wonderfully balanced and complex" (Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰), with aromas described as "Süß, elegant, fruchtig und lecker" (Harald). Notes of caramel, toffee, and dried fruits mingle with a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol. The finish is persistently long, showing off wood and spice, while some mention an initial intensity—especially on the nose—that mellows into a layered sipper.

To Maison La Mauny
"Very nice Agricole. Top!!!The nose like a chord on the guitar, harmonious, very complex, but individual facets are difficult to taste out. Perfect in the mouth. The 2001 is my favorite, still absolute recommendation to buy, as this will be a collector's item in a few years."
"another top Chantal Comte La Tour De L'Or! From memory, however, I would say that the 2001 was a little better and more intense. Many thanks for the sample to Vienna!"
"L'élégance de chantal comte. Un rhum complexe."
"Now that we're at it we decided to crack open this one as well and we're really happy that we did, because we all agreed that it's even better than the 2005. The nose is very fruity with almonds and vanilla with sone toasted oak added to it. The palate is wonderfully balanced and complex with fruit, cinnamon and vanilla. Then to add to the wonderful experience some smoky oak. The finish is forever and warm/woody with orange zest and marzipan. "
