How does this rum taste?
The S.B.S Cuba Rum, distilled in 2012 and aged for 9 years, offers a unique Cuban profile. With an ABV of 50%, this limited release of 374 bottles by 1423 World Class Spirits showcases aromas of vanilla and wood, enriched by the subtleties of brown sugar and baking spices. The flavor profile combines woody notes with raisin, vanilla, and cinnamon, delivering a balanced yet slightly lacking complexity according to some users. While praised for its wood management and overall balance, several reviewers note a lack of depth and intensity. Ideal for those seeking an easy-drinking Cuban rum experience.

I have many of the really good releases from Havana and compared to them this one lacks some complexity. Not that it's a bad rum, the profile is nice and fruity with nice spices and caramel, but I would have loved some more punch.
It's a pity the finish leaves a dry sensation on the palate, because otherwise, for a Cuban, it's quite successful. Not too much caramel/sugar, well balanced.
From the nose (green apple), this rum could come from the "Paraíso" distillery in Tuinucú near Sancti Spíritus, Cuba. But if so, it is unfortunately a very weak representative. So this rum disappoints me. It has absolutely nothing ... 🤷♂️ No great aromas, no depth, no oomph. For me, it's just boring. I'm sorry ...
Really woody and spicy dram. Although the woodmanagement is well done. Balance. Not so dry. Not too bitter. Easy drinkable. I haven't had too many proper Cuban rums, so I have nothing to compare it too. But I love this.
