An Nase und Gaumen recht nussig, Richtung Nutella. Der sehr aufdringliche und schlecht integrierte Alkohl gibt allerdings deutlichen Punktabzug.

Just finished a nice evening going through some of the samples we got from 1423. A surprisingly dry rum with a touch of Madeira.

Die Nase riecht sehr stechend nach Lösungsmittel und lädt zunächst nicht ein. Im Geschmack dann deutlich angenehmer, warme Noten von Banane, etwas Eiche, Marzipan und Zimt. Im Abgang kommen dann noch Früchte dazu.

Le nez est très typé ron : de la vanille mais surtout du caramel ! Quelques arômes de tabac et de fruit (banane) s’en détachent. En bouche, on s’éloigne du ron, cela ne tire pas du tout sur la gourmandise sucrée mais on va droit dans le bois ! C’est indéniable, les 26 ans en fût ont fait le travail, c’est boisé et pas un peu ! On retrouve un peu de vanille, et une petite touche goudronneuse nous rappelant nos chers Caroni, mais on retourne vite sur le boisé avec un large éventail d’épices. C’est très amer. La finale n’est pas excessivement longue car elle s’assèche.
