How does this rum taste?
Thick, fruity, woody Foursquare hit
If you enjoy Foursquare’s bolder releases or sherry-style whiskies, this Sauternes-finished cask strength bottling gives you that same dense dried-fruit and wood combo at a very fair price.
Those sensitive to higher ABV or who dislike pronounced oak and wine-cask character in their Barbados rums.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

A very thick FS. Pretty woody and loads of (dried) red fruits/dates/figs/raisin. Pretty much like a sherry matured spirit. You must love that kind of woodiness. In this case it works well. A very chewable dram.
Nose first closed, then wet wood and coconut, fresh figs and raisins. The fig becomes increasingly important. The Sauternes cask brings a little novelty without clouding everything, a very nice nose. Round and warm on the palate, a little saline on the same markers with more spice. The finish is of very decent length, spicy, woody and sweet. Glou glou, excellent value for money
Solid rum from Foursquare, it can do better and worse. Relative classic in aroma, spice and a little wine in taste.
Colorful and complex rum with loads of dried fruits like dates, figs and raisin. Alcohol is well integrated, balanced and round rum.
