The "Extra Old XO Cask Strength Rum" was produced in Barbados at the Mount Gay distillery. It was distilled from Molasses and then aged for 15 years. This is a great full body cask strength rum and I can only recommend it. Only 3000 bottles made so you have to be fast.
no idea what went wrong here but the drinking strengths are more suitable for me...

The nose is pungent, the palate intense with vanilla, coconut, burnt sugar, wood. Alcohol not particularly well integrated. The finish is medium long. Tastes like an average Foursquare from a bourbon barrel. I'll stay tuned and keep looking for my first really good Mount Gay.
