How does this rum taste?
Most enjoy its sweet, woody caramel profile for mixing; critics find it thin, medicinal and dosed. Consensus: a decent, affordable mixer and occasional easy sipper, not a serious contemplative rum.
If you like sweeter, easy Bacardi-style rums and mainly mix drinks, this is a step up in age and flavor, but it won’t satisfy if you’re chasing dry, complex sippers.
Enthusiasts seeking high complexity, undosed rum, or rich body; anyone sensitive to medicinal notes or who prefers dry, cask strength, or funky pot-still profiles.

This rum is quite alright. I always compare the Bacardis with the Carta Blanca, but of course this one is a stunner :-) Still tastes slightly alcoholic and woody. Quite quick on the finish. One of the better Bacardis.
This is the only Bacardi I can stomach. Really, very good. Great neat.
A pretty decent rum from Bacardi. I have it primarily for mixing, where woody and warm spices come through well. Not bad neat either, perhaps a little too alcoholic. Interestingly, the smell reminds me of black olives.
