How does this rum taste?
The Wagemut Special Edition 2021 is a unique expression from Barbados' esteemed Foursquare distillery, selected by the independent bottler Selected Cask Community. Distilled from molasses and aged for 20 years, this rum intrigues with its 50.9% ABV. It features intense sherry, cherry, and coffee aromas, harmonizing with raisin and brown sugar flavors. #4703 20.04.2024 Relaxing at home after a long stressful week at work. Nose Fresh, lightly sweet, fruity, faint chocolate, plum, light pineapple. Palate Oily, round, wood, sweet, light pineapple, plum, faint roasted, light chocolate, light sherry, faint coffee. Finish Medium long, light wood, sweet, plum, light cherry, faint chocolate, faint caramel. Draws really nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some light herbs, faint coconut and stronger caramel. Price to quality is pretty good in my mind.
Tastes more like a really tasty strong sherry than rum. Nice idea to simply blend a 19y old Foursquare with good old sherry and sweeten it accordingly, but basically I would have preferred to try such an old Foursquare without blending and finishing. It's delicious but for me it doesn't have much to do with rum anymore tun🤷🏼♂️ but it's an expressive sipper that is more on the sweet side and certainly works great with a cigar or as a digestif!

Die Kombination von Sherry und Foursquare ist meiner Meinung nach vollkommen gelungen! Eine nicht aufdringliche Süße vermischt sich mit der Kraft des Foursquare, die sehr gut zu genießen ist.
