Worthy Park Select Jamaica Rum
Most enjoy the fruity nose and soft Jamaican funk, especially for mixing. Critics find it thin, underpowered and a bit sharp. Consensus: simple, affordable entry to Worthy Park’s style.
Newer rum fans or bourbon/whisky drinkers wanting a gentle first look at Jamaican funk, plus cocktail enthusiasts needing a soft, fruity mixer with some Worthy Park character.

How does this rum taste?
Soft, fruity intro to Jamaican funk
If you’re rum-curious and want to try Jamaican funk without getting hit by Hampden-level intensity, this gives you the fruit and esters in a softer, budget-friendly format.
High-ester hunters, cask-strength fans, or anyone wanting big intensity and complexity in a neat sipper; also not ideal if you dislike even light funk notes.

Overall an OK Jamaican rum but that lacks the expected funkiness, probably because of the low ABV. I tasted it at the 1423 stand during the Stockholm Beer & Spirits Fair 2023. This Jamaican rum is a blend of copper pot distilled molasses based rums that have been aged between 4 and 12 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels.
We're clearly on Jamaica's markers. Wow, it's good. It's sweet, a little honeyed.
Auto-translated07.2024 First impression: wow, delicious Jamaica! Nose: very fruity and aromatic, esters, party Palate: now it gets serious and strong but still light, exciting contrast to the first impression Finish: short and crisp Overall impression: I really like it, a little light for straight sipping but okay, shows its strengths in fruity mixers: brings alcoholic strength, light esters and subtle spiciness. I have therefore increased my original rating from 7.0 to 7.3. The very small bottle in the photo was a gift on the tour of Worthy Park Distillery ... I couldn't resist the merchandising items (if you're ever in Lluidas Vale 😉) 02.2023 I bought the 200ml flask in Jamaica and found it great as an energizer for fruit juices
