#4283 07.10.2023 this was a 7 hour long event with 3 friends and it was a nice day. This is a pretty good rum when looking at the price tag. The raw cask sometimes contain small pieces of the cask and so did this one. Fresh and lightly fruity with some nice caramel and marzipan. The palate is oily and warm. The finish medium long and fresh. The empty glass had stronger marzipan and some glue.
On the nose a wonderful aroma of coffee, butterscotch and chocolate with light spice! If one looks forward to an intense taste experience thereupon...one is not disappointed! But different than expected... burnt caramel, angekokelter espresso and peppery spiciness spreads oily in the palate... for me anything but pleasant... then follows a bitter note, which is difficult to define! The bitter and old barrel continue in the finish! If there were not the aromatic nose... so he gets from me still so just a good grade! Overall for me but rather a disappointment
