By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

At the price tag this is a pretty decent Clairin. A bit unbalanced in my mind. The nose has overripe fruits and sugarcane followed by grass and floral notes as well as a light touch of anise. The palate is warm with salty licorice, grass, apple, anise as well as a hint of anise and leather. The finish is medium long and warm with grass, leather and a hint of leather as well as a floral note.
This is funky. It took me some getting used to as I'm not so familiar with unaged spirits, but even though it tastes a little 'schnappsy' it's so different and interesting with more to be discovered than in many aged rums. The nose is 'warm', like apple compote that has just been made. Or perhaps more pear than apple. On stewed meat with apple syrup, anise and cinnamon. In the taste it's more obvious that there's no maturity, with white pepper. The finish is long and warm with now also plum, fig, litchi and liquorice. After having tried more unaged rums and Clairin, I'm more and more finding out how exceptionally fruity it is.
V přímém srovnání se Sajousem ze stejného roku o poznání méně zajímavý. Pořád je tam tráva, sůl a troška anýzu, ale ovocité chutě jsou pryč.
