“Overall: Better than expected but nowhere near great. Nose: Very strong toffee (think Werther’s Original) Palate: Delivers on the toffee on both the attack and the palate. Finish: Like most Venezuelan’s I’ve tried it dissipates so fast you barely remember it was ever there. I am generally not a fan of Venezuelan rums. I find they dissipate too quickly and when you are lucky enough to find an undosed one they are often rather generic and uninteresting. However, I must admit this one was better than I expected and I’ve had far worse light bodied rums than this. I also appreciate that this thing is probably not dosed up and sugared like many other Venezuelans, for sure at least not as much as Diplomatico.”
