How does this rum taste?
- Rich cognac influence
- Balanced flavor profile
- Unique agricultural style
The Wild Island Edition - Arbre is a distinct rum produced at the Savanna distillery in Reunion, known for its agricultural roots. Distilled in 2012 from sugarcane juice and aged for 8 years, this limited edition of just 765 bottles offers a complex profile. Users highlight the prominent cognac-like notes with hints of grapes, green apple, and wood on the nose, while the palate features flavors of cognac, pear, and roasted undertones. While appreciated for its roundness and unique blending of wood and fruit, some find it lacking in complexity and overly dominated by woody and cognac influences. This rum attracts those favoring a distinctive agricultural style with pronounced cognac cask influences.

"02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on RĂžmĂž. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 2 Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, roasted, citrus, sweet, light apple. Palate Round, fresh, raisin, light apple, light wood, light roasted, medium dry, faint tannins. Finish Medium long, round, wood, light tannins, citrus, light apple, faint honey. Extra note. Light and ABV pretty well integrated."
"Solid rum, but overall not expressive enough for me. I like it thanks to its well-rounded profile - but that's also where the criticism begins, because unfortunately I find the moments of tension and complexity a little lacking here - a "problem" that I often encounter with Savanna's Traditionelles. But this is also not my subjectively preferred rum style."
