How does this rum taste?
- Vivid grassy and vegetal character
- Clean, fresh, minty palate
- Mixes well in cocktails
Fresh cut grass and vivid vegetal notes lead the Takamaka profile, with floral and minty finesse that RumX tasters describe as "light, green and delicately sweet." A touch of mineral and herbal complexity adds interest, though the finish trends short and the overall character remains gentle. Worth a sip for fans of grassy, agricole or mixer-friendly white rums.

"I think this one would do very well in a cola with a slice of lime, but that's something I'll try later. The nose is fresh and fruity with grass and floral . The palate is light, fresh and oily with raisins, grass and floral notes as well as a hint of mint. The finish is medium long and light with fruits and grassy notes."
"Buh… What can I say… Really some type of rum I wouldn’t recommend to drink neat… This one I would rather see in some mixed drinks… The alcohol isn’t integrated well and gives it a strange note. First disappointing one from Velier 😅"
"Does not have to be drunk neat. The alcohol is not particularly well integrated. I miss the fruits here."
"So pure the thing is unfortunately really quite boring I must say, sorry ... Very one-dimensional, something hay, trust and lemon peel, as well as chamomile more does not happen here even after 30 minutes. Hardly any fruit, no funk. Even in the daiquiri happens here not really much to justify a price of 60€ for a white rum, whose original takamaka bottlings partly only 20-30€ cost. Here I am really very disappointed. Too bad!"
