Beenleigh Inner Circle Navy Strength Rum
Most enjoy its warm herbal-woody character and vanilla, noting good complexity for 5 years. Critics find it harsh, young and a bit one-sided. Consensus: solid, quirky, not beginner-friendly.
Enthusiasts who enjoy bold, herbal, slightly smoky rums at higher ABV and want a distinctive Australian profile that works both neat (with patience) and in strong cocktails.

How does this rum taste?
Herbal, woody, quirky Aussie powerhouse
If you like characterful, slightly rough-around-the-edges rums like younger Beenleigh or other navy-strength bottles, this rewards you with herbal-woody depth once you give it air and respect the proof.
Beginners, those sensitive to alcohol heat, or drinkers seeking soft, sweet, dessert-style rums with lots of fruit and easy sipping texture.

8/20 smells very good vanilla, not great in the mouth, not much taste and very strong
Strong aroma, some alcohol content. Original combination of spices, cocoa, cask, herbs, a little eucalyptus and glue. In the taste, again, you can tell that this is a younger rum, but the profile that the Velier bottling had, for example, is undeniable. The ideal is to let the rum rest longer. Beautifully warming creamy herbal finish.
A powerful Australian rum that needs aeration to express its fruity, vanilla, woody and smoky aromas. The palate is powerful, but unfortunately loses some of its aroma, with spice and wood dominating. The alcohol could also be better integrated. The finish compensates for this with a touch of freshness and roast that lingers long enough on the palate. A rum that could have more potential.
