#4038 This one is a bit off between the nose and palate and doesn't really deliver on the lovely nose it has. Still fruity with a light sourness in the profile. It also needs to rest for a good while before giving it a go. Lightly dry but with nice esters.
Schön ausbalanciert!
The HD HLCF was somewhat more convincing than the WP. More fruit, better integrated alcohol, better mouthfeel. However, the winner was the STC<3E for me.
It says Hampden on it, you get Hampden. Unaged HLCF and it delivers what I imagine under it: A nice amount of esters in the form of tropical fruits (especially NATURALLY pineapple and banana), but comparatively smooth and not overwhelming, as is sometimes the case with other re-aged. In the nose very similar to the Rum Fire, but on the palate much more moderate. Exciting to understand the mark HLCF even better.Plus point: Tastes mega good in Cubra Libre (yes, Jamaica Libre)!Rating is always difficult for me with restored rums, can not be put in comparison to stored rums!
