"A lovely Single Cask signed by Karukera. The nose brings out the very pronounced agricultural notes of herbs, flowers, earth, sugar cane and menthol, with a very subtle hint of varnish in the background that makes the difference on the nose compared to a classic agricultural rum. It's surprising to smell this here, and very pleasant. Exotic fruit, lime and dried fruit combine with sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon) and wood to create a complex, balanced and pleasant blend. On the palate, the attack is still very vegetal and floral, with sugarcane and herbs not far away. The acidity of citrus (lime) and exotic fruit is also instantly apparent. The woody and spicy notes bring a certain dryness to the palate, which finds itself confused by so many relatively opposite flavors, but the blend works well. It's important to remember to aerate the rum for a while, otherwise you'll be faced with a beast that's hard to tame. The alcohol could be a little better integrated. The finish has less impact than the entry, leaving the agricultural dryness, vegetal freshness and spicy warmth as the final tasting impressions. A good agricultural rum that offers a nice tour of Guadeloupe, with an original and appropriately spicy profile."
"Fresh and spicy, with a lovely lime note. The alcohol could be better integrated."
"Al naso è elegante e delicato con sentori di legno, frutta secca, tabacco, lieve tostatura, agrumi, canna dolce e un tocco vegetale, ottimo. Al palato un po'pungente ma poi si scioglie, con note di frutta secca, peperoncino, canna dolce, caucciù, vaniglia e leggero legno con tabacco e cognac. L'abv poteva essere integrato meglio."
"A very good agricultural rum with as much to eat as to drink...plenty of fruit and citrus..."
