“Too woody for me, especially on the finish. Update 2023-08-19: Today probably the more suitable, because tropical outdoor temperature for tasting. After 30 min of breathing the tropical big city broth, the old rum presents itself clearly oily and only a little woody astringent, but still relatively bitter and not a bit fruity. So you can get one point more out under optimal conditions 😉.”

“Dry and wet wood. On the nose, smells of wood polish and turpentine. Taste-wise, I also had gas notes. Decent bitterness in the mouth, also rubber and pencil...a dirty Versailles. Overall less good than the Flensburg, but still very good.”

“It‘s a good one! Maybe it‘s diluted, because i was missing the power… the finish is really short, only the wood notes remain. Very impressive enmore nose, fruity, woody, nutty, leather, some fresh minty/licorice notes and a lot of rubber. Lovely nose😍All these notes continues in mouth. In addition i found some notes of apricots.The finish is quite unspectacular short. All these notes disapper after some seconds, the wood is the only taste which remains.”

“One should always taste with longer pauses high-quality rum, then the aha effect is much greater 🥹Nose: intense, full-bodied, beautiful! Woody-spicy-roasty-fruity. Strong-sweet comes the oak barrel, followed by vanilla pipe tobacco and soft, sweet Danish licorice. Plus juicy dried plum and sweet-tart dried blackcurrant with some caramel. It's dark, slightly bacony-smoky and malty-roasty. A really nice and full bouquet.Palate: wow, intense and powerful on the palate too, nice woody-roasty-spicy. First something malty-salty and woody-acidic with iodine. Spices in the direction of nutmeg, maggi and umami. Something slightly dirty, like rubber with tar pushes forward, which fits very well. Tart nut is also there.Really round. Very good”

“After the new FRC and the RA, the third KFM. As little fruit as the FRC, but less inviting: more polish and varnish, less herbs and tea, the smoke note is more reminiscent of ashtrays.In the mouth it is more balanced and yet it brings a surprising and rather unpleasant acidity that also intensifies the bitterness. This is criticism at the highest level, this KFM is also a super rum. The FRC I find noticeably better because it is more balanced and intense, with the RA he is on a level.”

“In the nose here already aromas come to the fore, which otherwise often appear only on the palate or aftertaste: woody, licorice, herbs and coffee eg.On the palate: a massive board! But with many small nuances, great! The alcohol gives just the right boost.Aftertaste: very woody and very on the bitter side but again with many nuances that do not let the bitter become boring.A very good rum on the border of "excellent" but the bitter is not so much for me. An exciting experience!”

“So different can be barrels... While I still raved about the Artesanal rum yesterday, the direct brother disappoints me but very much. Here the characteristics of the KFMs come through fully, which I generally do not like: woody, bitter and somehow even flat. The nose is much less enticing than the RA, as overall less powerful, not as sweet are the bold note of prune is present, but not taking up all the room like the RA. The palate for me is mostly a smorgasbord of bitter tones, leaving little room for anything else. Even the finish is flatter, hinting at a few tones of dark chocolate at most, in addition to bitter mocha and wood.”

“Was für eine herrliche Nase, schwer dunkel würzig, mit Dörrpflaume, Leder, Holz und etwas frischer Minze. Der Gaumen kann da nicht ganz mithalten… zu sehr kommt der Fasseinschlag hinzu! Ansonsten folgt der Gaumen der Nase, herrlich! Der Abgang ist lang und angenehm, zum Schluss kommt wieder die Dörrpflaume hinzu! Der RA bleibt bei den KFM‘s für mich momentan jedoch noch der Primus”

“Ein sehr ledriger Geruch mit kräftigen Kräutern und Lakritze steigt einem intensiv in die Nase. Diese Noten sind im Geschmack noch intensiver mit einer sehr ausgeprägten bitteren Note. Diese bleibt auch lange im Abgang. Ansonsten sehr viel Leder, leicht schokoladig und Bleistift. Hat auch was von Karamalz. Insgesamt schmeckt er sehr leicht. Ein Rum, an dem sich die Geister scheiden. Entweder man liebt ihn, oder man hasst ihn. Mir gefällt er sehr gut.”

“The Nobilis has to prove itself today against the Flens KFM 91/21. Both with a nice nose of dried fruit, herbs, leather and toffee. The Nobilis comes minimally more about licorice, the Flens a little more about the dried fruit. On the palate, but especially on the finish, the Nobilis does come more over the wood barrel and is a bit more bitter. The Flens can score here with a better balance of nutmeg and caramel. Overall, in this respect, one point less than the Flens.”
