How does this rum taste?
Most love its balanced, oily Port Mourant profile with roasted wood and licorice. Critics find it over-oaked, slightly past its peak and expensive. Consensus: complex, dry, very good but pricey.
If you like old, dry Port Mourant profiles, this nails the oily wood-and-licorice style; just know it leans more tannic oak than bright fruit and isn’t a value buy.
Those seeking sweet, fruity or easygoing sippers, or buyers sensitive to high prices and assertive oak tannins.

This ia a very nice release and a very well balanced profile. Lightly fruity with some licorice in the profile and I really like the balance with the roasted wood notes and the oiliness on the palate. Price to quality can be argued but it is a good rum nonetheless.
