How does this rum taste?
The 21-Year-Old Kill Devil Barbados Rum from Hunter Laing is a distinguished limited edition from the West Indies distillery. Distilled in 2000 from Molasses and boasting an ABV of 51.3%, it embodies woody and floral aromas with underlying leather, banana, and vanilla notes. On the palate, it features dominant woody and tar aspects complemented by honey, citrus, and vanilla. While the alcohol is well-integrated, some find it overly bitter. Generally appreciated for its distinctive profile divergent from typical Barbados rums, it provides a balanced blend of sweet and earthy tones. Its limited production of 229 bottles enhances its exclusivity for rum enthusiasts and collectors alike.

#8th dec RumXCalendar Blind tasting: Nose: fresh, woody, various fruits, fruity, after some time i found some hints of rubber and a dominant smell of marzipan Palate: rubber, fruity, barrel, oak, nutty, licorice Finish: medium, toasted, oak Very lovely rum 🤤I enjoyed this one a lot. The Alcohol is integrated very well. My Prediction: Jamaica Clarendon Approx. 60% Approx. 10 years of aging
Rum X Advent 8.12.22Pure confusion. Like the one song which runs in the bar and you know you know it, but just does not come on it and it does not let you go the whole evening. I was sure I knew the rum. But did not get it.
Somewhat of an outlier compared to the other 2000 WIRDs I tasted so far… more into the realm of flowers and less pronounced honey notes… not bad though, just different…
Doesn't taste as medicinal as a Rockley of the same year (this one is distilled in July, not June), but goes in a similar direction. Beautiful bottling which is not common. Had mistakenly held in the calendar the Taiwan Rum for this rum.
