This crystal-clear drop is the nature boy among the Kō Hana rums - unadulterated and unfiltered. At the first sip, you can taste the sugar cane, complemented by tropical fruit and a hint of fresh cream. With its 40 percent by volume, Kea is a great mixer. A rum that proves that "white" does not mean "characterless".
Starts on the vegetal/medicinal side - a lot of chalk and mineral notes, with some grassiness and pepper - before evolving into a sweeter sip with flavors of cane and green apple.
cane varietal: lahi there was nothing that could have prepared me for the unique notes of this spirit. thankfully, i was pleasantly surprised, though i took a moment to adapt. the abv could be higher to further express those floral and citrusy flavors, but the texture is lovely despite this, and the notes act as an adventure rather than being up front all at once. it takes its time to fully envelop you in what it offers. gorgeously floral and juicy, with a bit of buttery umami.
