Romdeluxe Ten Cane Collectors Series 2008 13yr 62,3%
The Ten Cane "Collectors Series" rum is a highly sought-after expression from the renowned Ten Cane distillery in Trinidad. Produced in 2008 from Molasses, this 13-year-old rum is selected and bottled by the independent bottler Romdeluxe, with a cask strength ABV of 62.3%. Users rave about its complex profile, with dominantly spicy, prune, sour cherry, and dried currant scents on the nose. The flavor follows through on this, showcasing chocolate, oak, spiciness, a bitter touch, and dried fruit notes. This Ten Cane expression is often compared to the Duchess label, admired for its robust character and harmony of flavors. However, a few users noted that the alcohol is not as well-integrated and mouthfeel can be slightly more challenging. Despite this, the Ten Cane "Collectors Series" remains a beloved rum for its distinctive, berry-rich, and versatile profile that leaves an impression on both nose and palate.

“Reassessment: compared to other Ten Cane not better: -5 points.Nose: I immediately feel reminded of the Duchess Ten Cane 11yo! That sour cherry note, wonderful! Unfortunately the alcohol is very present in the nose.Mouth: sour cherries again! then licorice and then with a sweet wave again fully ripe sour cherries and medicinal notes. I love this profile!Finish: continued but with emphasis on the bitter notes.A very good rum, unfortunately the alcohol is not quite as well integrated. I had noticed this with the Duchess as well. I will try it again later with a few drops of water. Ten Cane the Caroni for poor 😁”
