The Plantation La Réunion (Sélection exclusive V&B) rum is a unique offering from Savanna distillery in Reunion, crafted by Maison Ferrand. Distilled in 2005 from sugar cane juice using a Column Still, this rum matured for 16 years before being bottled at an impressive 62.5% ABV. It showcases a complex aromatic profile with prominent woody, tropical fruit, and spice notes, enriched by hints of coffee. On the palate, the rum exhibits a rich woody, roasted, and fruity character. Although some find it a bit dry and tannic, others praise its rounded, gourmand qualities attributed to its agricole roots and bourbon cask influence. A little bit too dry
#4553 18.01.2024 Flipping a few samples today ☺️ A pretty ok release with a medium fruity and medium dry profile. The Agricole notes are also there and the palate has some added grass and roasted note. The finish is medium to long with light dryness. There is a faint cherry and caramel note in the profile. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has light coffee and faint chocolate.
