How does this rum taste?
RumX members love the explosive high‑ester funk, packed with pineapple and banana, lifted by a clear PX‑sherry influence. Expect glue, tropical fruit and woody spice, with hints of vanilla/chocolate and cask‑strength intensity. Several suggest a few drops of water to tame the heat. With 58 reviews and popular status, this bold young Hampden shows surprising complexity—and it’s a limited run of 157 bottles.

Sehr interessant.
#7 RumXHighE(a)ster weeks: Blind tasting: Hampden C<>H approx. 27 years of aging (1993) approx. 60% high ester Very fruity, spicy, high ester, glue with a hint of the barel. Result: Intersting one. My thought was of an older rum because of it‘s darker tawny color, but here you can see what a continental agining in a sherry barrel can do wonders. After an half hour and third dip i found the sherry barrel in the finish. I enjoyed this one a lot 👍🏻
Gefällt mir richtig gut! DOK und Sherry passen einfach gut zusammen.
Trifft mal wieder genau meinen Geschmack.
