Cadenhead’s Hampden LROK 2000
Highly praised as a balanced, fruity Hampden with well-integrated ABV and approachable esters, rewarding patience in the glass despite not being the most powerful or complex 2000 vintage.
Fans of Hampden who enjoy fruity, polished funk, want a sipper that’s easy at 50.9% ABV, and like daily-drinkable continental 2000/2001 Hampdens rather than extreme ester bombs.

06.11.2021 Another visit to "Den Danske Rom & Whiskyfestival and once again with special access and many very drunk people both days. Notes. Needs rest. Fruity profile with some polish and wood. The palate is kind of light and oily yet fruity. The finish medium long and dry with fruits. ABV very well integrated.
Nice Hampden that definitely needs some time to open up. Well balanced and the alcohol is very wel integrated. Maybe lacks a bit of power. Expensive for the juice that’s in the bottle
Beautiful nose! Immediately pineapple and mango but also some esters. Hardly any alcohol, very pleasant. On the palate I first taste nut (pecan), ester, pineapple, grapefruit. Very pleasant to drink but also a little lax. The finish is rather short, although the ester remains a little. I like it, but it could be a little stronger.
Auto-translatedNeeds time in the glass (to the dismay of the pregnant wife on the sofa next to me). The initial nose and taste seems a tad off balance but give it time and a few sips, and it takes off. The first light fruity notes (pineapple, eatery notes) quickly give way to oak, some bitterness and complementing sweetness, and butter of all things. All on balance as with the alcohol. Really good!
