By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
15.02.2023 Relaxing at home with some samples. Colour Medium dark in colour. Nose Medium intense, light wood, light roasted, light anise, berries, faint coconut, fruity. Palate Fresh, balanced, light wood, oily, anise, berries, spice, light nutty, light citrus, faint caramel, faint coffee. Finish Medium long, light wood, faint earthy, light marzipan, berries, faint chocolate, light caramel.
NOSE: russet apple, wood glue, pastry crust, sweet oak, leaf duff. PALATE: overripe fruits, rotten apple, light honey, elderflower. FINISH: sweet oak, crème brûlée, more rotten apple, autumn leaves, custard, yogurt & sweet fruits, grape, cardamon. OVERALL: drinks much lighter than some other tropically-aged Long Pond- though some similar elements are there. The dominant note is an overripe apple, rotting on the orchard floor. I like it. The fruit notes play well off the drier wood tannins & caramel. RATING: 74/100
