12.11.2005 The Den, Beijing This was my first tasting in China, where I lived for a little over 7 years. My notes. Despite this being an old release this was actually an unopened bottle, so we did a bottle birth. Nice colour. Light wood with flowers, coffee and citrus. Palate is light with some smoke and grass. Finish medium long with wood, light smoke. raisin and nougat.
Remains somewhat pale overall - it cannot be ruled out that this was due to the oxidation of the distillate in my specific case. However, neither the nose nor the palate were impressive and the finish remains a rather brief intermezzo. Too bad.
Very restrained on the nose. Unfortunately, there's not much going on on the palate either. Perhaps the bottle has already suffered too much from oxidation.
