The Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 18 is a limited edition masterpiece from the renowned Hampden Distillery, meticulously bottled by Romdeluxe. Distilled from molasses in 1993 using a pot still, this rum aged 28 years, achieving a cask strength of 56% ABV. Rich aromas of pineapple, cherry, and esters add complexity, while flavors of marzipan, cherry, and anise delight the palate. Wow, this is a great release. Despite the age the wood is extremely light giving the other flavours more space to bloom. I really like the marzipan on the back of your palate 😊 This is a very limited release for a Danish shop and they nailed it in my mind.
A very smooth, fruity, gourmet palate with no trace of wood despite 28 years in barrel. A slight lack of texture and length to make it all great. Still, a very fine selection.
