Got this sample as a gift together with another bottle bought from Rhum Attitude by my son, for me. The nose is fresh, woody and fruity with aromas of grass, honey and raisins. At the palate and during the long finish it’s intense, woody, spicy, fruity and vegetal with flavors of pepper, honey, raisins, madeira and cognac.
Als würde man richtig guten Calvados, Cognac und Rhum Agricole ein Baby machen lassen. Sehr lecker und harmonisch und macht richtig Spaß!🤤 Ungewöhnliche Noten nach grüner Paprika, Erdnussbutter, Sellerie und grünem Apfel, etwas Schwefel und Honig und deutlich mehr Holzeinfluss. Für mich persönlich ist es etwas zu viel Cognac Einfluss, ein paar Monate in Madeira Fässern zusätzlich hätten gut getan...
Danke an Pedro Ferreira, der meinen Schwiegereltern einige Rumproben mitgab :-) Ein dreijähriger Rum im Cognacfass. Nicht ganz so besonders wie der 9-monatige, aber dennoch ziemlich gut und komplex. Röstaromen und junges Holz sind hier deutlicher vorhanden. Pflanzliche Noten, Frucht, Zuckerrohr und Gewürze sind durchgehend präsent!
A bit too unbalanced for me, even if the profile is basically appealing measured by the young age. Unfortunately, the alcohol is not quite roundly integrated and brings too much sharpness into play on the palate. The three-year-old rum from the Madeira barrel with only 45% comes not only aromatically more exciting, but also clearly rounder and more balanced.
