Clément Select Barrel

Great rhum in my view! I love the Rhum blanc flavours and taste and it usually gets somewhat lost in aged rhums, but this keeps great balance of vanilla/barrel notes with grassy and floral notes of blanc. Recommend!

Tasting neat my new supply for mixing. This is very smooth, smell of honey and citrus, refreshing minerality with pepperness and anise. Alcohol well integrated.

Beim Geruch sind für mich Früchte und Zuckerrohr ganz klar im Vordergrund, ich rieche saure Äpfel, Pflaumen und ganz klar Zuckerrohr. Gewürze vernehme ich her gar nicht, Hölzer wenn überhaupt nur eine leichte Sherryfassnote. Geschmacklich kommt er eher mild daher mit einer leicht rauchigen Note, ganz klar grasig, fruchtig und für mich sehr Nussig (Mandel/Bittermandel). Der Abgang ist im mittleren Bereich für mich, sehr angenehm, nussig und abermals die Sherryfassnote. Ich bin kein großer Fan von Agricole Rum, aber dieser hier ist wirklich sehr angenehm. Sowohl pur als auch als Mixer, vor allem für den günstigen Preis.

The nose hits first with vanilla and the dried apple chips you get in cereal bars. There's also some grassy sugarcane, tobacco and faint young wood. The palate has the vanilla from the nose, keeping things sweet. Followed by old oak, the apple for the nose, more subtle this time. Peppery towards the end. The finish is mid length. Moving from a note of hay in a warm barn to smoke. Interesting. I don't dislike this. Not your usual agricole from Martinique. Sweeter, less sugarcane forward.

Plutôt dans des cocktails avec du sucré. Goût fumé mais un peu fade

11.12.2018 Enjoying samples at home. Colour Medium dark in colour. Nose Light, light wood, sugarcane, faint floral, faint chocolate, light menthol, berries. Palate Light, floral, light wood, light roasted, sugarcane, light orange, faint leather, spice, light chocolate. Finish Short to medium, light wood, sugarcane, light honey, light leather, faint chocolate, berries.

This aged agricole has a bit of the expected vegetal aroma on the nose, but it is mostly covered by wood, vanilla, and apple. The taste is smokey and toasted with a shorter finish that is woody with spice. It tastes a bit like wood and smoke are masking some of the finer flavors of the rum rather than enhancing them.

Clean, fruity, a tad grassy. Reminds me of Irish whiskey.

Au nez, un léger boisé poivré et de la vanille. En bouche le bois est jeune, c'est vanillé et assez frais.

Overall it’s a very kind Agricole, maybe too kind. The nose is fruity, pleasant and floral but weak with aroma of sugarcane. At the palate it’s sweet, fruity and smooth with flavors of vanilla, grass and sugarcane. The finish is short to medium and smooth.

Very smoked and earthy. Dry. Not my favourite in rum.

Not my cup of tea. Reminds me of campfires.
