M: spicy, caramel, roasted F: oak, vanilla, caramel Prediction: sound like a rum from barbados maybe FS, approx. 60%…. totally wrong 🙈 Alcohol could be integrated better. Nose: trop. fruity, a lot of cocconut, pineapple, caramel, honey, vanilla and spicy Mouth: Dry, strong, bitter and thin; notes of caramel, vanilla, roasted, cocconut, milk chocolate and a lot of spice Finish: dry, astringend, oak, caramel, vanilla“

„Tag 4 im RumX-Adventskalender, blind. Mein erster Eindruck sagte mir „Spanischer Stil“, nach etwas riechen vielleicht auch Barbados, da durchaus etwas Klebstoff. Dann eine starke Kokos-Note, die mich nicht mehr loslässt, zusammen mit gebackener Banane in Honig. Am Gaumen dann kräftig würzig, aber auch etwas alkoholisch. Auch hier vor allem Kokos, ein bisschen Pfirisich und Aprikose mit etwas Würze, vielleicht etwas Marzipan und Anis. Aufgrund der Kokos-Note habe ich auf Belize getippt. Mittelalt (8-10 Jahre) und ca. 57%. Immerhin eins davon war richtig. Spannender Rum, den ich sonst wohl eher nicht probiert hätte. Immer mal etwas Neues, Privateer sollte man vielleicht nicht ganz vergessen.“

„etwas runder und süsslicher als der Velier 2017, liegt vermutlich an der Reifung im Ex-Rumfass (vs. virgin oak), aber dennoch, auch hier das unverkennbare, ungestüme, harzige (nach Sägewerk). Ich bin gespannt auf länger gereifte Privateers…“

„Nachzügler aus dem RX-Adventskalender. An Nase und Gaumen dominieren Holz- und Röstnoten. Vanille und eine gewisse Süße (Konfekt/Karamell). Leider wars das dann auch schon. Für ein „sehr gut“ fehlt die Komplexität. Erinnert an spanische Vertreter. Die 57% ABV sind gut eingebunden.“

„RumX Advent Calendar day 4. In the nose I would have guessed it to be from Barbados, a lot of coconut, vanilla and bourbon like notes, reminds me of Foursquare to be honest. Same sensations in the mouth, but of wood but definitely not a lot. Alcohol could have been integrated better. So it appears to be Privateer. I was excited (first time tasting Privateer) and a bit let down at the same time. I’ve come across the name so many times in rum groups and there are so many people recommending it. But you’re better off with a decent Foursquare to be honest.“

„RumX-Adventskalender. 4.12., blind. Erster Eindruck in der Nase: spanischer Stil, dann dieser intensive Kokos-Duft. Doch eher Barbados? Am Ende hab ich auf Belize getippt. Um 57% geschätzt. Aber mal was neues wieder… Nase: Total Kokos, Kokosbutter, aber auch eine Mischung aus Mango und Passionsfrucht mit leichter Säure. Hat auch etwas von gebackener Banane mit Honig. Leicht würzig mit Vanille und weißem Pfeffer und ein Hauch Tabak hinten. Gaumen: kräftig und fruchtig, leicht bitter mit Aprikose und Kokos, etwas holzig, aber nicht störend. In der Mitte leicht metallisch, wie Kupfer. Am Ende würzig mit Anis, Vanille. Gar nicht so schlecht, insbesondere für das junge Alter. Da lohnt sich ein Blick hin…“

„Nose: the first sniff is pure alcohol, then it gradually opens up…light hints of sugar, kinda of cotton candy. Then a fresh note slowly develops in the glass…adding a couple of water drops release notes of spice and dried fruits (almond or hazelnut). Also I get apples… Mouth: wow, what a twist…vanilla, salty caramel, spices that make your tongue tingle a little bit, possibly wood from the barrel.“

„RumX Adventskalender Tag 4. Leider habe ich mich gespoilert. 🙄Aber ich hätte es auch nicht erraten. Hier unterscheiden sich Geruch und Geschmack wirklich deutlich. In der Nase süsse Noten, während am Gaumen dann eher eine trockene, leicht harzige Note überwiegt. Vanille hab ich durchgehend. Spannende Geschichte!“
