By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
The nose starts off with a classic funk you get from Jamaican rums. The taste is good, but a bit muted. The nose is stronger than the taste, and the finish falls off quickly. As far as taste goes you get a pleasant caramel taste with vanilla, some tropical fruit and slight funk. It is very light bodied.
A solid mixing rum that actually is worth sipping. Faint funkiness. Makes a good mixer.
Nose (did not prepare for the taste. Know it's "supposed" to be for mixing but had a good time sipping it. Taste evolved over the course of the sip until drying out earthy. Think it'll make a great half of a Rum old fashioned blend.
Probably good for mixing. Tastes a little flat if you’re drinking on its own. Still not bad though. Some more sweet earthy type notes. For me, 5 is average.
