How does this rum taste?
- Rich pineapple and tropical fruit
- Harmonious integration of 60% ABV
- Superior depth for 5 years
Bursts of ripe pineapple, high esters, and smoky fruit define Hampden’s “Elliott Erwitt HLCF”—a lush, complex Jamaican character in just five tropical years. RumX tasters love its balance and well-integrated 60% ABV, with layered notes from buttery pastry to candied mango. Consistently seen as superior to other recent HLCF bottlings. Worth a sip for fans of bold, fruit-forward Jamaican rums.

"Very tasty! Great nose, in the first moment when you take a sip it has briefly a somehow unpleasant mouthfeel. However, this fades very quickly, then spreads a great flavor palette in the mouth! The rum develops from rather acidic ester notes to a sweetish pear with a slight eucalyptus note."
"With a drop or two of water, this rum works wonderfully. It is harmonious but also complex. Rather on the spicy side and less funk. It seems older than the 5 years. The rum still has a very good PLV."
"Stands out extremely positively in a direct comparison of the two2016 Hampdens, which were released under the aegis of Velier. Clearly more harmonious and with far better integration of the alcohol."
"Cross-tasting with RX27 & RX11980 I have to raise my initial rating significantly. In direct comparison, better than the new Hampden HLCF Classic 2017, but still a corner behind the Velier HLCF 2010"
