"A rum from another era! For its richness of scents and flavors and very similar si barbancourt of the 50s/60s! Chapeu for this Saint James!"
"08.06.1985 Dorothea Pub, Kolding a place that went out of business in 2005. A place that changed a lot over the years. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose: Very fruity, citrus, wood, vanilla. Palate: round, fresh, wood, fruity, cherry, citrus. Finish: medium long, fruity, herbs, light wood."
"Unbelievable just how unrecognizable this nose from the 70’s is to any other contemporary SJ I’ve tried. Like acetone-laced vanilla caramel popcorn. Fascinating. Carries over to the palate but what seems acetone on nose develops into papaya, lime, and tropical fruit on palate. I was not expecting this but it’s an amazing expression. So much pop and sizzle in it despite relatively low ABV. One of the most interesting tastings in some time. Incredible how much the flavor profile of a distillery can so radically transform over the decades."
