“#4097 Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money with this release. Intense and fruity yet well balanced once rested. All the elements are very well balanced and I like the light nutty note. The empty glass is really nice and I can find some chocolate and a light smoky note.”

“Incontestablement la référence de chez Swell de Spirits. Le nez est d’une incroyable finesse pour un jamaïcain. Les fruits tropicaux mûrs ouvrent le bal, suivis de près par des notes harmonieuses d’esters, de solvants et de colle. Le nez dégage des saveurs pâtissières très gourmandes sur le massepain, la brioche et le beurre, avec un côté presque fermenté. Alors que la saumure et l’olive viennent apporter du caractère, le zeste de citron, le caramel et la vanille parachèvent ce profil ample, généreux et délicat. Une franche réussite qu’on peut renifler des heures. L’attaque en bouche est absolument divine. L’intégration de l’alcool approche la perfection. On retrouve un rhum onctueux au profil des plus aromatiques : des fruits tropicaux aux notes phénoliques, en passant par le caramel, le massepain, l’olive, le boisé pimenté ou encore le caoutchouc, on a un concentré d’arômes qui se fond parfaitement pour donner un ensemble cohérent, harmonieux, profond et complexe. La finale est très longue, à la fois intense sur le côté funky des fruits et des notes phénoliques et médicinales, et plus délicate sur le chocolat noir, la réglisse et le côté salin avec la saumure. De légères notes rôties amplifient le sensation de gourmandise. Le rhum colle au palais avec ses magnifiques arômes pour notre plus grand bonheur. Un rhum au caractère affirmé et pourtant rempli de douceur, qui est à la hauteur de sa réputation. Un véritable porte-étendard tant pour Swell de Spirits que pour les Hampden de ce mark et de ce Millésime.”
