Distilled in 1990 from molasses and aged for 30 years in a single wooden pot still, this cask strength rum exhibits a 54.2% ABV. Limited to only 235 bottles, it delivers a complex nose of herbal, pastry, and dried apricot notes, while the palate reveals spicy, anise, and citrus flavors, all unified in a well-integrated profile. "Very round profile with the typical Versailles pencil notes. In addition to these somewhat metallic-mineral wood notes, nice hints of tea, subtle sweetness, anise, licorice and yellow fruits. The alcohol is impressively well integrated - the profile is almost easy sipping at this alcohol strength, meaning very balanced, yet aromatically complex at the same time.
