How does this rum taste?
The "Rhum Trinidad (Flag Series)" is a premium rum distilled in 2001 at the T.D.L distillery using molasses with a pot still. Aged for 20 years and bottled at a robust 65.6% ABV, this limited edition rum of only 250 bottles offers a complex profile. Users describe it as intensely aromatic, featuring notes of citrus, camphor, and tobacco with a peppery, woody, and minty palate. Revealing both floral fruity and dark chocolate tones, the rum captivates with its long, mentholated finish. Despite its elegance, some find the price high for its perceived value. La Maison Du Whisky curates this unique rum delight for discerning collectors seeking depth and a bold profile.

A first deep and mysterious nose that quickly becomes discreet and comes back to the attack then on candied fruits and a minty cocoa. Straightforward mouthfeel with powerful depth 🔥this is a monster!!! It is both complex and concrete. The finish is long and makes me feel like I've eaten a nice piece of meat with a glass of red wine. I am a fan ❤❤
On the nose, well, it's shy tdl, you think shit, not wow and you're not going to spend time sniffing, but the attack isn't the same, a little astringent, you sit down in an old leather armchair, notes of camphor, light menthol, wowowoow it doesn't finish, a deep throat settles in, tastes of stale meat/tobacco, licorice mingle with dark fruit, the woodiness is impeccable and fresh, there's menthol, yes of course, but it doesn't take over the mouth like on the other 2001s, violent, elegant, magnificent..
A truly delicious and surprising Trinidad rum. The nose is typical of TDLs, with blackcurrant and menthol, but also tropical and candied fruits, spices, slightly empyreumatic flavors reminiscent of Caroni, tobacco and notes of camphor, making for a very rich and pleasant olfactory profile. On the palate, the attack is intense and highly aromatic, carried by those notes of hydrocarbons, rubber and tar so dear to Caroni, but also by the abundance of tropical fruits, sweet spices and the scent of eucalyptus and menthol that perfume the palate to give a complex, terribly effective and delicious blend. The alcohol is also very well integrated, with a long finish of smoky flavors, menthol, tropical fruit, licorice and delicate woodiness. A real taste delight.
Excellent! A good TDL on notes at the same time empyreumatic, fruity and slightly spicy. Camphor and mentholated touch. An interminable finish. A must!
