How does this rum taste?
- Sehr fruchtig und winterlich
- Alkohol gut eingebunden
- schöne florale/ erdige Noten
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 19 Rhum Agricole VSOP draws in RumX tasters with its grassy, dried apricot, candied fruit and baked apple notes, often coming across as both herbaceous and gently spiced with cinnamon. The cask strength brings lively intensity, making the fruity, floral, and sometimes salty profile stand out. As crazyforgoodbooze says, it's “unglaublich runder und leckerer favori! sehr fruchtig und winterlich”, while schnubbii calls it “sehr fruchtig, fast ein ganzer Obstgarten aus hellen gelben Früchten”. Yet, some find the alcohol a touch “rau” (@Timo Groeger) or the grassiness pretty dominant, keeping opinions honest.

"Great, young Agricole! Intense, floral and wintery spicy (cinnamon and baked apple). Top selection!"
"Next sample from a buddy. To be honest, I had higher expectations here. You can smell candidates and dried fruit on the nose. Then the same on the palate. Somehow it has a rough taste and is very alcoholic."
"Typical notes of an agricole on the nose. Sugar cane juice, grassy notes, vanilla, some grape. Relatively fresh and young. Still fairly round on the palate with lots of floral/flowery aromas. Creamy/oily mouthfeel. Thanks @chris2302 for the sample!"
"A young rhum agricole with very pronounced vegetal notes. A woody note is then added, especially in the finish. I was missing a counterpart to the dominant grassy/vegetable notes. Little sweetness or fruit."
