How does this rum taste?
Barbados 21 is a distinctive rum from the Foursquare Distillery, bottled by The Duchess. This limited edition, 21-year-old spirit was distilled from molasses in 1999 using pot and column stills. With an alcohol by volume of 60.2%, this rum showcases a complex aroma profile of vanilla, oak, pineapple, coconut, and nougat. The palate is similarly rich with notes of coconut, vanilla, and a spicy, oaky finish reminiscent of bourbon. While some reviews praise its fruity and spicy depth, others note challenges in alcohol integration, emphasizing its intense character. Ideal for seasoned rum enthusiasts, Barbados 21 offers a sensory experience distinct from other Foursquare releases.

A pretty well rounded Foursquare with nice fruits and lovely spicy touch. Oily palate with a medium finish. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is nice and I can pick up a light marzipan note.
Borderline alcohol content, but surprisingly complex for a Foursquare with chocolate-orange notes.
With this I do not understand it's high rating. The alcohol integration is terrible. The nice orange peel does not help this one in the end. Besides this, there is just a lot of young sweetish foursquare
This is not your mild coconut driven Barbados, packed in vanilla. From the start Is feels dirty and heavy on the oak and the finish has some tar/fuel notes to it. Only after a while in the glass does the lighter aromas get noticed. The nose and tongue gets very different experiences. Reminds me very much of the Alta Gama FS 21y.
