“Ein unglaublich schöner Rum im spanischen Stil. Die hohen ABV stehen ihm in der Nase extrem gut, am Gaumen funktionieren meiner Meinung nach aber ein paar Tropfen Wasser sehr gut um ihn zu öffnen und mehr fruchtige Aromen preis zu geben. Erstaunlich finde ich die Bourbonnote. Hat mir sehr gut gefallen! Tolle Auswahl vom Fass.”

“Zusammen mit dem RA Belize 2006 verkostet. Habe diesen auch etwas verdünnt, da er davor recht scharf und alkoholische war. Danach in der Nase ähnlich. Schon intensiv, aber dennoch sehr soft und süß - mit schöner reifer Frucht hinter dem vanillig-holzigen Aufschlag. Im Mund zu flach für meinen Geschmack: Holzig, röstig, würzig. Abgang holzig, aber angenehm und überraschend lang. Der Flensburger ist insgesamt etwas würziger und dreckiger. Das Profil von dem RA mit der besseren Balance und mehr Facetten.”

“Eine tolle Sache. Ich hatte noch nicht viele Belize Rum. Diesen finde ich sehr gut. Er ist herrlich intensiv und der Alkohol ist top integriert. Werde gerne mehr von der Destillerie versuchen. Dennoch merke ich, dass Rum über 65% mir zu heftig einfahren. Wenns bei 2cl Degustation bleibt funktionierts noch, aber meist bleibts ja nicht bei einem Tropfen Rum am Abend😌 Ich sehe dass es vermehrt Abfüllungen gibt, die höhers ABV abfüllen, was anhand der Geschmacksintensität durchaus verständlich ist. Für mich ist der Trade-Off aber zu hoch.”

“Even before nosing and tasting I expect this to be very sweet as the legs move extremely slow to the point of simply sticking to the edge. On the nose you get toasted coconut, dried apricots, raisins and a slight touch of yellow banana. The sweetness is upfront, but it does present itself pleasantly as vanillated custard topped with torched sugar. Continued with dominant malt: roasted nuts, cappuccino and a side of milk chocolate. A hint of fresh mint at the very end. On the palate the sugars turn one-dimensional and the consistency turns oily and creamy (or even sticky) in the throat. The toasted coconut, dried fruits and malt persist, but we get some additional peppers and cinnamon. Alcohol is integrated wonderfully. It drinks well below its ABV. The finish is surprisingly short with some lingering sugars and malt.”

“Ich habe den Rum nach dem ersten Versuch schrittweise auf ca. 55% verdünnt. Der Alkohol bleibt trotzdem sehr präsent und ich habe den Eindruck, das es nicht unbedingt vorteilhaft ist! Die Bitterkeit im Abgang ist deutlich geringer ohne Wasser! Aber der Reihe nach: Die Nase ist sehr angenehm und rund. Ich habe starke Assoziationen zu Bourbon und Vanille. Im Mund ist zunächst der Alkohol da, dann wieder Bourbon, Vanille, die schnell wechseln zu Schokolade, Kakao und dem Fasseinfluss. Der Abgang wird vom Fass und bitteren Noten dominiert und ist sehr lang. Sehr gut aber ohne Überraschung.”
