CoR Foursquare Barbados Ed. 8 1998
Highly praised Foursquare: dry, coconut‑driven, woody and chocolaty with well‑integrated strength for most drinkers. A focused, classic profile that many rank among the better recent FS releases.
Foursquare fans and bourbon crossover drinkers wanting a dry, mature, coconut‑and‑oak profile at cask strength with clear chocolate and roasted notes.

How does this rum taste?
Serious, dry Foursquare coconut oak sipper
If you enjoy dry, mature Foursquare like Absolutio or CDI Barbados 16, this will feel familiar—same polished coconut‑oak core, just a bit more focused and serious.
Those sensitive to higher ABV or looking for a sweet, playful or very fruity rum; also anyone wanting a wildly unusual profile rather than classic Foursquare.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

Not a surprising profile. Very very FS. But a good one. Very coconutty. Roasted coconut. Dryish. Glue. Butterscotch. Virgin oak. The age tamed the flavours a bit. Lovely.
Compared to the other 1998 in the CoR series, the complexity is lacking here - the herbal notes are just as weakly represented as are the heavy vanilla and toffee sweetness. Solid in the best sense, slight plus points for the recognizable barrel influence.
Klassischer Foursquare, nicht mehr und nicht weniger.
Alcohol not so well integrated.
