How does this rum taste?
New Grove Old Tradition 5, crafted at Grays distillery in Mauritius, is distilled from molasses using a column still and aged for five years. With an ABV of 40%, this rum presents a unique blend of vanilla, woody, and caramel notes, complemented by subtle fruity undertones. Its aroma reveals a distinct woody and metallic scent with hints of licorice. Users appreciate its natural vanilla finish but note that a higher ABV might enhance its profile. #5087 Saturday 24.01.2025 - 26.01.2025 A nice weekend in my sisters summerhouse with old friends and colleagues tasting a lot of rums. I can only recommend like we did, no phones allowed and then only music in the background 😊 Colour Medium dark. Nose Wood, light roasted, apricot, light dried fruit, light caramel, faint orange, sweet. Palate Light sweet, wood, light roasted, light caramel, apricot, cinnamon, faint salt, fruits. Finish Medium long, wood, fruits, raisin, faint chocolate, light caramel. Empty glass Light orange, light chocolate, wood, light rubber, light peach.
Nice natural vanilla custard finish. Find it good. Only a few percent more would be desirable here
Very good position to this price ~35€ imo.
