I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
02.10.2016 - 03.10.2016 A great extended weekend with rum friends. This was a nice event and lots of space between the tables. Only problem was the level of English at some of the exhibitors. Here are the rums we tasted at the event itself, nothing truly unique but we had fun. This is the second half of the tastings. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, faint smoke, coconut, citrus, spice. Palate Round, wood, tannins, light smoke, fruity, banana, citrus, faint coffee, warm. Finish Medium long, wood, tannins, orange, light nutts, faint coconut.
A relatively subtle and pleasant caramel tinged nose. Mouth is well balanced if a hint one dimensional, with some saddle and alcoholic elements. It’s a step up from the 8 year old but not as deep or complex as the 21. Not your classic Jamaican funk notes. Good and reliable English style Careibean rum
Good daily dram with typical Appleton character. Of course you shouldn't expect too much, a good predecessor to the Appleton Rare Blend.
